Desert Ridge is a master-planned community developed starting in the early 1990s. It is located in the Northeast Valley of Phoenix, and at 5,700 acres, it is one of Arizona’s largest master development.
This community enjoys a strategic location with its southern periphery just off Arizona State Route 101 (Pima Freeway). As could also be seen in this map, Desert Ridge is bordered east by Scottsdale Road, by Cave Creek Road to the west, and by Pinnacle Peak Road to the north.
The Desert Ridge master development is a public–private enterprise. Prior to this joint venture, the community already had close to 4,000 homes, with more neighborhoods subsequently added. This community now thus consists of a rich mix of single family homes and condo townhouses.
The choices of newer single family residences in this master development could be found at the subdivisions Desert View Village, Aviano, Sierra Pass and Sanctuary at Desert Ridge. Typical sales-listed single family homes in Desert Ridge start in selections of three-bedroom residences with floor areas averaging about 2,300 square feet. The larger options in higher price ranges offer floor plans in the 3,000-square-foot range designed with up to five bedrooms.
Multifamily units offered for sale in this community could be found at the subdivisions of Bella Monte, Fireside, and Toscana at Desert Ridge. Sales listings in these neighborhoods vary from one-bedroom units with living areas of about 800 square feet to three-bedroom condos having floor plans of 2,400 square feet.
Amenities: Since the start of its development, Desert Ridge has evolved as a self-contained community, providing all the needs of its residents. Today, the development is host to Desert Ridge Marketplace, a 1.2 million-square-foot hub for shopping, dining and entertainment. The master development is also home to the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa. Its facilities include Wildfire Golf Club with a 36-hole championship golf course. The resort likewise features restaurants and bars, a day spa, expansive pool grounds, and a conference center. In addition, the Phoenix campus of Mayo Clinic is located in a 210-acre site in Desert Ridge. The master development has also drawn in the regional campus of American Express, as well as facilities of Sumitomo Metal Industries. Residents enjoy quick and easy access to major highways as well as dining, entertainment and shopping option.
